Died 31st August 1943 age 20. Son of Major Rumley Walter Godfrey & Stella Lorraine Godfrey of Woodbridge.

Philip is burried in Hasketon churchyard and is also remembered on Woodbridge War memorial.
Philips mother, Stella Lorraine, was born in Bombay when her father, Guillaime Prier de Saone was an East India Company merchant. Some time later the Prier de Saone family moved into The Red House in Hasketon. His father served in the Royal Field Artillery during WW1.
Military.
205 Company, Royal Engineers, was part of the 45th Division of the 1st Somersetshire Engineers, the engineer component of the TA 43rd (Wessex) Division. The Company served in a Home Defence capacity, but we’ve been unable to determine their main function or how Philip was killed.
