Yup – I have. It’s June 9th 2024 and we’ve suddenly realised we’re cold. Obviously not the full winter cold, but that sort of dull summer evening cold, when the hoped for warmth hasn’t arrived and you reach for a pullover.

So since I have plenty of wood to burn, all very dry and easy to light, I’ve actually lit the fire. Yay – nice and toasty now. And the great news is it’s all carbon neutral! Yup – the wood was all cut from the garden, and was only 20-30 years old. Any carbon in it was in the apnosphere at that time. It’s well seasoned – so by burning it there’s very few other by-products and I’m simply restoring the situation. Yes- the environment is safe… phew.

I love having a stove!
